Jeff, an Army captain, has served the United States overseas in three military deployments, twice as part of an Army Special Forces unit in Iraq, and most recently as an Army Physician's Assistant (P.A.) in Afghanistan. Jeff and his wife Cynthia, both graduates of Sacred Heart University, are avid swimmers, cyclists and runners. They have competed in triathlons in Colorado and Texas and have several short and long trials scheduled this summer in upstate New York. The couple welcomed their first child, a son, in July 2010 while Jeff was in Afghanistan. He was not able to witness the birth. His most recent deployment ended in March 2011 and he has been enjoying time with his family while training for the PMC ride.
Jeff's sister Jennifer was diagnosed with stage II stomach cancer in July 2005 at the age of 30. In August of that year, most of her stomach was removed along with part of the esophagus. Chemotherapy began in October and Radiation began in November. After treatments ended in February 2006, Jennifer struggled with "chemobrain" symptoms for another year. She returned to work full-time in June 2006 and only got on the wrong train home twice. She has complications as a result of the surgery and visits Dana-Farber Cancer Institute regularly. Jennifer is a graduate of Boston University and currently reviews advertising materials to ensure regulatory compliance for Bank of America. In her free time, she enjoys Schutzhund dog training, cross-stitch, cooking and trying not to obviously stalk Red Sox captain Jason Varitek.
Together with their loved ones, Jeff and Jennifer appreciate your generous support.
